YMHFA is an eight hour course and informs how to best help youth experiencing a mental health or substance abuse challenge or are in crisis.
About the Facilitators
Justin Farrell is the Clinical Director of Real Life Counseling in Vancouver. He is a licensed independent clinical social worker and a child mental health specialist. Besides teaching Youth Mental Health First Aid, he also teaches as an adjunct faculty at Concordia University in the Psychology and Social Work departments.
Curtis Miller is the Executive Director for the Connect Battle Ground Coalition -- a growing coalition of over 130 cross sector organizations in Battle Ground, WA. They partnered in January 2013 in response to adolescent crises such as suicide, drug and alcohol abuse, mental health, poor academic performance, violence, and other urgent social concerns in their community.
