Breaking down the barriers between law enforcement and students was the goal and was met with resounding results. Having a resource officer in schools resulted in less drugs and alcohol on campus and surrounding areas, less use outside of school, less students thought it was okay to use and more students understood the effects use can have on them in the long term.
Students were more likely to report a crime and lean on law enforcement for support. Casey not only is present in the schools but Volunteers his time at YAK nights, attends school sports events and numerous other activities.
Thank you for being the first resource officer in OBSD and taking on an important role for our Peninsula youth you will be missed!!
