Awarded at our November coalition meeting, the Asset Builder Award went to the City of Long Beach.
The City of Long Beach has been a strong supporter of WellSpring since it first acted as the coalition’s fiscal agent ten years ago. The city consistently creates possibilities to support youth, families, and community. Long Beach City Council have included anti-drug proclamations on their agendas, listened to Youth Action Klub’s presentation on the work they have done on vaping and marijuana, and participated in the promotion of our ongoing education on Adverse Childhood Experiences.
Local renovations of Stanley Field will help host youth baseball and softball teams, the city has a strong sense of pride with its welcoming charm and family-friendly, free events. The City of Long Beach’s success is largely due to the men and women who work tirelessly for our community. The mayor, city council members, and other staff wear multiple hats by volunteering for local fire departments, surf rescue, fraternal organizations and community non-profits.
Thank you, City of Long Beach, for all you do to build a stronger community!
