On May 8, New Life Church was presented with the Asset Builder award, recognizing their continuous commitment to the community and our youth. New Life Church has supported the community in a multitude of ways, but they particularly excel at putting in the personal time necessary to assist those that need support the most.

“The New Life Church, and in particular Pastor John and Missy, have been wonderful champions of our students and our programs," said Amy Huntley, Ocean Beach School District's Director of Student Learning. "Their generosity and patience with our alternative school students has helped the students, but it has also been a great example of how a caring, faith community walks their talk in terms of helping those who need it.”
"New Life Church has 'adopted' the Ocean Beach Alternative School and it is truly a blessing. They come into our building weekly [...] sometimes just to check in and see if we need anything [...] but usually to hang out and meet with our students. And maybe for our kids the best part--they bring us snacks and drinks,” said Karyn Veland. “They came to our Christmas party, a whole group of people, which says tons to our students. New Life church truly proves that to any child love is spelled T-I-M-E!"

New Life Church has provided tremendous support to Ocean Beach School District and the Alternative School staff and students, donating both time and resources.

“Last school year, New Life Church sponsored the Ocean Beach Alternative School (OBAS) 2017 graduation including providing all food and beverages and providing volunteers for the event, they also are planning to cater the 2018 OBAS graduation.
This school year New Life Church was able to provide all Hilltop Middle School students with brand new shoes and catered the Ocean Beach Alternative School Holiday gathering,” said Elly Rosaire, the district's Family Resource Coordinator.

“I cannot express how helpful, available, and willing Pastor John, Missy, and others from his congregation are to the students, families, and community members.”

New Life Church also opened its doors three nights a week during the 2017-2018 Overnight Winter Lodging season, and has continued support of Peninsula Poverty Response and other community organizations and projects that fight homelessness and poverty.

“Pastor John has been a key partner in assisting individuals, families in our community. He has been willing to assist me with my clients who have significant mental health issues. The church has been proactive in providing services for all community members that are in need and always willing to come to table,” said Richard Holmes, Permanent Supportive Housing Specialist at Coastal Community Action Program.

New Life Church’s impact can be felt in every corner of the community, and we cannot express how much we appreciate everything that they do to provide guidance, resources, or even just a friendly face. Rosaire summed it up perfectly:

“Thank you for being you!”
