"A Wellspring we carry within, that can be blocked but not
contained. It emanates through all beings as the longing
for love and peace."
"I saw these words this week in a book by Mark Nepo that I often read from. It’s called The Book of Awakening. Not only does it have the word Wellspring - - Thank you, Mark Nepo! It also conveys what I know about a wonderful friend, who has brought amazing energy and love for the communities of South Pacific County.
Years ago, when Peace of Mind Pacific County was still NAMI Pacific County, Sigrine, along with her partner and husband Doug Levitt, made friends with dozens of local merchants and brought wonderful items to bring to our May Wellness Walk.
And I do mean friends! She knew them by name, and when we left any of them out she found a way to re-connect with them. It wasn’t and isn’t about the money. It’s about love and friendship and community.
Sigrine served as the first president for our new Peace of Mind Pacific County and continues as a board member for POMPC, along with her work as a Community Guide for people with developmental issues.
Today WellSpring honors Sigrine Vally for that energy and dedication and love. She cares about the children and youth and families who are part of this place of need and hurt, but most of all a place full of heart. Thank you, Sigrine, for being you."
