The contributions made by Peninsula Baptist Church to the community include hosting the first poverty simulation event, which attendees said was both hugely impactful and eye-opening, and providing Thanksgiving food baskets to local families. Peninsula Baptist Church also hosts the annual Peace of Mind of Pacific County spaghetti dinner, and coordinates and hosts the Baccalaureate event for the graduating classes of Ocean Beach School District each year.
Moreover, Peninsula Baptist Church has also raised funds and offered space to distribute school supplies and backpacks to students in our district for over six years. Over 400 students benefit from this program annually. Lunch and refreshments are also provided to all attendees and volunteers. During the same event, they have also recently hosted the first annual Student Resource Fair and Pack2School carnival during the same event.
As if all these efforts weren’t already exemplary, Peninsula Baptist Church also helps organize the annual Project Homeless Connect event (recently renamed Project Community Connect). This event pulls together agencies, programs, tangible goods, meals, and haircuts for those in need our community.
According to Pacific county program manager Robin Handley, “Peninsula Baptist Church is more than a church; it is a family that cares not just for themselves, but for the wellbeing of the community that surrounds them.”
Congratulations, Peninsula Baptist Church!
