In the fall WellSpring’s Executive Team approved a new coalition award called Mem-ber of the Year. This award will be given annually to an outstanding coalition member. Length of service and positions are not requirements of the award, but instead a dedi-cation to collaborations and community wellness.
This year’s Member of the Year award was given to Executive Team member at-large Wayne Leonard. Leonard has been a driving force behind WellSpring’s transition into a sustainable 501c3, as well as policy and bylaws creation.
Those who have worked with Leonard can site not only his big picture thinking, but his compassion and respect. "He does things with intention and is always mindful of those around him," says Carly Castaneda, youth arm coordinator. "As a staff member, Wayne has given me a space to voice my opinions and made me a feel like I’m a part of this team."
After 39 years in the Pacific County Juvenile Department, Leonard will be retiring in June. It is with the upmost gratitude and respect we recognize Wayne Leonard.
