Have you always wanted to teach kids about a subject, hobby, or skill that you’re passionate about? Programming opportunities at the Boys & Girls Club allow staff and volunteers alike to craft their own unique clubs centered around a skill or topic of their choosing.
Program Leads submit a thoughtful summary of the general design of their club along with a detailed list of goals, objectives, and individual lesson descriptions to Colton Christner, Director of Operations. Once approved, club leaders then compose individual daily lesson plans that detail the progression of activities and the desired outcomes for the day. At the conclusion of each lesson, club leaders are afforded the opportunity to reflect on the positives and negatives of the day, and focus on ways to improve the lesson for next time.
Clubs can meet anywhere from every day to once a week, so if you have time to volunteer and valuable wisdom to teach to our community’s youth, consider building your own classroom through our programming opportunities!
