Ramona and her husband relocated to the peninsula from Maui. Ramona started out working with Inez Greenfield as a paraprofessional in Mrs. Chabot’s classroom.
Ramona taught ECEAP preschool for 25 years in Ocean Beach School District. For several of those years, her classroom was relocated almost annually, yet that never flustered Ramona. She was always organized and ready to greet children and families in the fall regardless of the location.
Ramona has taught generational preschool and oftentimes parents who had Ramona for a preschool teacher would do whatever they could to assure that she taught their children. Ramona was always firm, fair and friendly providing a stability to children in her classroom that they may not have had that at home.
Ramona did everything within her power to assure that children entering kindergarten had the best possible start. Ramona retired last year, yet she continues to be busier than ever in the community. Ramona is active in her church, she is the Coordinator for READY! For Kindergarten classes, volunteers in a kindergarten classroom, at the OP food bank and at the Parent Child Playgroup.
Ramona continues to be a strong supporter and advocate of children and families and she embodies community wellness in all that she does! She is a natural Asset Builder
